The Castle of Father Malavado, a central element of my story "The Castle" included in the collection "Dark Fantasies and Other Stories", sometimes also known as the Castle of Perre, in the parish of Perre, in the Viana do Castelo district of Portugal. Built in the beginning of last century by a priest who was teaching at a nearby school, it was very quickly baptized of Castle by the locals. Personally, I think it looks more like a mesoamerican building than an European monument.
Partially destroyed by the construction of the highway A28, it's now reduced to a fraction of what it was before. Here are some current photos and the promise that when I find some older ones, I will also put them here.
